Anne Ayvaliotis

Ayvaliotis is an abstract expressionist whose work is known for its strong images and emotional content. Ayvaliotis painted what she saw from her studio on her farmland in Washington, Maine. Born in New York City in 1925, she moved in 1963 to Washington. Ayvaliotis' work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout New England and is in the collections of the Farnsworth Art Museum and the Portland Museum of Art. She has been an art instructor, including at the Farnsworth from 1978 to 1997, and was on the Farnsworth advisory board from 1980 to 1984.
